The names of three villages in the Abirem Constituency in the Eastern region, Etwe Nim Nyansa, Kote ye Aboa and Hyowa Ye Mmobo have outraged Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwah-Yiadom, the founder and leader of the Ebenezer Miracle and Worship Centre.
The radical preacher, who is noted for his outburst on social issues bothering on marital sex and relationships has blamed the devil for blinding the founders of those towns, thereby influencing them to name the towns after sexual organs with derogatory descriptions.
Members of parliament on Thursday July 26, 2018 laughed their lungs out when the Member of Parliament for Abirem, John Frimpong Osei filed a motion for the then Minister of Energy, Boakye Agyarko to explain why his ministry had difficulty in hooking some communities in the Abirem including Twenwinso, Etwe Nim Nyansa, Kote Ye Aboa and Hyowa Ye Mmobo to the national grid.
In an excerpt of one of his sermons on his Prophet 1 TV, Opambour ‘fired’ the elders of those towns for not doing anything to get the names changed, centuries after their ancestors death.
“How are you going to respond to appellations at a durbar if you are addressed as the chief of Kote Ye Aboa?”, he fumed, questioning the sense in keeping such a disgusting name bequeathed by so the forefathers of those towns.
“Have you seen what the devil has done? he has corrupted our minds to the extent that now the names of private parts are been discussed by ministers in our parliament”, he asked one of his subordinates, Osofo Chief who is also heard in the audio available to Angel News.
Opambour said God will even relent in blessing the natives of those towns because they will find it difficult to mention those names when praying.
He has therefore asked that those names be immediately changed to more dignifying ones or its natives be perpetually confined to poverty and ridicule
