Jeffrey Schlupp has registered his first goal after 40 games for Crystal Palace since his move from Leicester City, in this season’s Premier League opening fixture at Craven Cottage against Fulham today.
Roy Hudson’s side was poised to get off the mark with a good start to their campaign unlike last season, when they struggled to score a single goal in their first seven games.
The cottagers who are making their return to the English Premier League after suffering relegation in the 2013/14 season looked dangerous from the start with Serbian striker, Aleksander Mitrovic calling goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey into action for the better part of the clash.
But it was the Ghanaian, whose 41st minute strike put the Eagles in front as he held off on-loan Arsenal defender, Callum Chambers to fire a shot into the roof of the net after connecting Patrick Van Aanholt’s slide pass.
Fellow African, Wilfried Zaha wrapped the victory for Palace with his 79th minute low shot and landed a bitter welcome to Fulham.
