Some traders at the Racecourse Market in the Kumasi metropolis whose stalls were pulled own some four months ago are fighting back for compensation from the Mayor of the city of Kumasi, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi.
According to them, after ordering for the stalls to be pulled down under the ‘instruction’ of one Kyeiwaa, the KMA Boss promised to recompense them by paying for the bills of the reconstruction of the stalls on another piece of land at the market but has failed to live up to it.
Some market queens who spoke with abnghana.com’s Owusu Banahene today, vowed to make life unbearable for Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi if he fails to pay for the reconstruction of their stalls immediately, since they are now suffering.
They have accused the mayor of abandoning his official duties and working under the dictates of one Kyeiwaa and have warned the government to dos something about it or forget their votes in 2020.
Efforts to reach Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi for a reaction have been fruitless.
