Former President of Ghana and National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate hopeful, John Dramani Mahama has told executives in the Pru East Constituency to massively endorse his come back to rescue Ghanaians from untold hardship that has rocked the country, barely 2 years after he left office.
Addressing a well attended gathering of constituency executives and members of the NDC on day one of his 5-day tour of the Brong Ahafo region at Yeji today, Mr Mahama who suffered a humiliating defeat at the 2016 polls to President Nana Akufo Addo said, “I can tell you that, today, even NPP members are looking forward to the NDC to rescue them from this hardship in 2020”.
“Ghanaians are looking up to us NDC; the people cannot do the work so Ghanaians are expecting the NDC to arise and wrestle power to rescue them from this mess”, he retorted amidst cheers from the crowd.
He said though every Ghanaian is suffering, that of the members of the new patriotic party are in remarkable proportions because, “they expected so much transformation but we in the NDC knew the next four years would be tumultuous for us”.
The feat, he however said is unachievable unless executives of the NDC at all levels police the ballot boxes at all the 29000 polling stations to ensure they win at the grass root level.
The former president also bashed the current government for abandoning the construction of roads in that area and promised the people he will be back in 2020 to “complete those projects because it could be in God’s divine that he is the one that gets to finish it since he was the one who started it”.
